Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse to operate in Rockford, Illinois. This 13-week travel assignment requires 40 hours per week with 10-hour day shifts, and involves circulating/ scrub responsibilities, potential RN first assistant duties, and a fast-paced operating room environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience and hold ACLS and BLS certifications. Travel nurses enjoy weekly pay, guaranteed hours, and comprehensive benefits through TotalMed RN.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1-2 years recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub RN, possibly RN first assistant.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and OR staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery education to patients and families.
• Prepare, administer and document medications as prescribed; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients/families and the operating team.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed on the correct patient.
