Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse in Rockford, IL. This role involves circulating, scrubbing and potential RN first assistant duties in the operating room, with 40 hours per week and rotating shifts for 15 weeks. Start date is 09/28/2026 and ACLS/BLS are required.

Immediate travel opportunity with a tax-free stipend to be determined. Travel RN will assist physicians, manage pre- and post-surgical care, and ensure patient safety and accurate procedures.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• 1–2+ years of recent OR nursing experience in circulating or scrubbing roles is preferred.
• RN with operating room and patient care responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients before, during and after procedures.
• Prepare, monitor and administer medications as prescribed; document doses and reactions.
• Coordinate communication between patient, family and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure and patient identity prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and home plans.
