Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a Travel Operating Room RN for a 13-week assignment in Duluth, MN. Start date and shift details are established for an 8-hour night schedule with 40 hours per week.

The OR RN will prepare the OR, manage instruments, and collaborate with the surgical team to deliver safe, patient-centered perioperative care. Requires RN licensure, BLS, and OR experience; ACLS/PALS/CNOR preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of recent OR RN experience.
• Valid RN license in accordance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• ACLS/PALS/ENPC certifications and CNOR preferred.
• Other licenses and certifications may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with instruments, equipment and sterile supplies for each procedure.
• Assist in positioning and prepping patients for surgery while ensuring safety.
• Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Anticipate the surgical team's needs and provide instruments promptly.
• Monitor patient status during surgery and notify the surgeon of changes.
• Handle instruments, sterilization and disposal per facility protocol.
• Document perioperative care accurately and thoroughly.
• Participate in patient handoffs before and after surgery.
• Assist with room turnover and restock between cases.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and safety standards.
• Follow PPE and infection prevention measures at all times.
