Job summary

GHR Healthcare - Travel is seeking a travel nurse RN OR for a 13-week assignment in Springfield, IL. Join a high-acuity perioperative team at a Level I trauma center with Magnet status and a 12-hour day shift.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of OR RN experience, Illinois license, and travel nursing background. Orientation is comprehensive; floating and weekend scheduling are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent OR RN experience.
• Active Illinois RN license, with license in hand or in process.
• BLS certification from AHA/Red Cross required; RQI not accepted.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Level I trauma experience required.
• Experience with general, bariatric, neurologic, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, urologic, and trauma procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Prepare ORs, equipment, instrumentation and supplies for procedures.
• Apply sterile technique and infection prevention practices.
• Assist with surgical site verification, specimen labeling and Universal Protocol.
• Administer blood products and monitor patients perioperatively.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia teams to optimize outcomes.
• Float as needed and participate in call coverage.
