Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (OR RN) for a Virginia Beach, VA assignment. The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and possibly RN first assistant, with ACLS/BLS certifications.

The OR travel nurse will assist surgical teams, provide perioperative care, and support patient education. Duties include preparing instruments, monitoring patients, and ensuring safe procedures, with 8‑hour rotating shifts and a 40‑hour week.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as circulating nurse or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.
• ACLS and BLS certification required or as specified by assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to patients.
• Monitors and supports patient during surgery and helps ensure correct procedures are performed.
