Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (RN) for an 8-week assignment in Sterling, VA. The role requires 40 hours per week with 10-hour day shifts, and travel status for OR care teams.

The OR RN will assist physicians, perform circulating or scrub duties, and potentially RN first assistant tasks. ACLS/BLS/PALS and at least 1 year of acute care experience are preferred, with safety and patient education integral to duties.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications are required or pursued.
• 1 year of RN experience in acute care or OR settings is preferred.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and surgical staff in caring for patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to patients and families.
• Position, instrument handling, and sterile field responsibilities as circulating/scrub RN.
• Administer medications and document accordingly.
• Coordinate communication between patient, family, and operating team.
