Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a high-acuity, high-volume surgical unit in Maryland. A Maryland or Compact license and prior travel nursing experience are required to join a dynamic team.

The role involves circulating and scrubbing across multiple specialties, floating as needed, and meeting a 40-hour work week with on-call and weekend coverage. DaVinci XI robotic cases and complex cases are routine.

Qualifications

• Active MD state or Compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted.
• Strong circulating experience required.
• Strong scrub experience across multiple surgical specialties preferred.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Community hospital experience required.
• CPI certification required.
• NRP certification accepted (NRP or AAP).

Responsibilities

• Operate in a 17-service OR with general, lap, and robotic cases.
• Care for high-acuity patients including transfers.
• Care for newborns to geriatric patients.
• Utilize DaVinci XI and SP robotic systems.
• Rotating day shifts; 40 hours per week; on-call and weekend coverage.
• Floating within specialty as needed; travelers prioritized for floating.
• Holiday coverage as scheduled.
• Handle diverse cases across multiple specialties (Neuro, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Robotics, etc.).
