Job summary

TotalMed is seeking an OR travel nurse in Lynchburg, VA. The position requires 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub RN, with RN First Assistant possible depending on the assignment. Shift is 10 hours, 40 hours per week, for 13 weeks, travel status.

The OR RN will support surgeons, provide perioperative care, and ensure patient safety and education before and after procedures. BLS and RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub RN (1–2 years).
• Possible RN First Assistant role depending on facility needs.
• Active RN license and BLS certified required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and OR staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and patient education.
• Prepare instruments and equipment for procedures; monitor patient during surgery.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with patient safety throughout procedures.
