Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Indianapolis, Indiana. The OR RN will support surgical teams as circulating, scrub, or first assistant roles, with 10-hour days and 40-hour weeks.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, and must hold BLS certification. This travel assignment details include procedures, education responsibilities, and potential hazards in the operating room

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients’ families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education on medications and home care needs.
• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients before, during and after surgery.
• Monitor and manage equipment and specimens as needed.
