Job summary
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week day shift assignment in Illinois. Candidates must have at least three years of nursing experience and a current IL RN license, along with BLS certification.
The role requires patient positioning, surgical team support, and accurate nursing documentation. The position uses EPIC EMR for charting and offers travel housing allowances, per diems, and licensure reimbursements.
Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Skilled in patient positioning, surgical team support, and documentation of nursing care
Responsibilities
- Position OR patients and prep for procedures
- Maintain sterile and safe environment during surgeries
- Assist surgical team with supplies, specimens, and medications
- Document nursing care and patient status in EMR
- Transport patients to PACU or appropriate unit and provide handoff
- Operate on a day shift from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Weekend and holiday shifts required
- RTO limited to 7 days within the 13-week contract
