Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR travel nurse in Columbus, Nebraska. The assignment is 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week and 9-hour day shifts. The travel role supports surgeons and staff in caring for surgical patients, including pre- and post-op care and education.

The right candidate should have 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub RN, and may include RN first assistant duties. Travel nurses are offered weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• Potential RN first assistant experience may be required.
• OR nursing certification and Nebraska RN licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care in the OR setting.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families and OR team.
• Verify correct procedure on the correct patient.
• Educate patients and families on post-op care.
