Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an OR Travel Nurse for a travel nursing assignment in Houston, Texas. This role requires 1 year of acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, with potential RN first assistant responsibilities.

13-week duration, 40 hours per week, days shift. As an OR Travel Nurse you will support physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients, perform pre- and post-surgery education, and work across circulating, scrub, and RN first assistant duties as needed.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1 year of acute care nursing experience in OR setting.
• Travel nursing assignment in Houston, TX with 13 weeks duration.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Serve as the communication liaison between patients' family members and members of the operating team.
• Ensure that the correct procedure is being performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician; teach patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs.
