Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Austin, TX. The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and possibly RN first assistant, with 40 hours per week and 8-hour days.

As an OR travel nurse, you will support physicians and staff in perioperative care, handle instrument preparation, patient education, and post-operative care, with duties across circulating, scrub, and first-assist tasks. BLS required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Administer and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions.
• Assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients.
• Educate patients and families on home care and meds.
• Prepare and manage instruments and inventory pre/post-procedure.
