Job Summary

Surgical Technician, Operating Room Tech. The role supports general and specialty surgical procedures across 12 service lines, including open, laparoscopic, orthopedic, vascular, neurological, gynecological, urological, and robotic cases. The position requires strong sterile technique, surgical instrumentation knowledge, specimen handling, and the ability to support evening operations and scheduled call coverage.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification and National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification; New York state license in hand at submission; at least 3 years of surgical technology experience; prior travel experience; Electronic Medical Record (Epic) experience; proficiency with general operating room procedures, laparoscopic-assisted cases, vascular procedures, orthopedic procedures, neurological procedures, gynecological procedures, urological procedures, robotic surgery, decontamination and sterilization processes, aseptic technique, sharps safety, specimen handling and labeling, and Universal Protocol time-out procedures.
• Schedule: Evening shifts consisting of 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Call coverage is required, including six shifts during each 8-week time block and coverage of weekends and holidays. The department performs approximately 4060 cases daily and includes 13 operating rooms.

Pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
