Job Summary

Operating Room (OR) Nurse Location: unspecified. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in an acute care setting within the OR department. The role includes working across various shifts in a busy surgical environment, supporting multiple specialties such as general, GYN, urology, plastics, robotics, neuro, ortho, spine, EENT, and cardiothoracic surgeries.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS (AHA); valid Illinois RN licensure or confirmation of application process.
• Education: Current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing in Illinois.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of OR nursing experience required; scrubbing in surgeries required.
• Location Requirements: Active Illinois license or application process initiated.
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts with various start times, including 0645, 1045, 1445, with rotating shifts. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Unit notes indicate orientation hours of 12 hours with no guaranteed hours during orientation. Nurses must produce a negative drug screen for all panels. No floating required. Scrubs are provided, casual professional dress is allowed.
• Responsibilities include supporting multiple surgical specialties and participating in scheduled call rotations approximately once a week, with every 3rd to 4th weekend on call.
• Submission Requirements: Last four digits of SSN, confirmation of active IL license or initiation of licensing process, acknowledgment of drug-free campus policy.
