Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Long Term Care position in the United States. The role requires 1+ years of OT experience and prior LTC or rehab setting experience. Open to new grads with Level II fieldwork completed. A 13-week assignment with day shifts and no weekends.

Licensed OT in good standing is required; resume and at least one reference are needed for consideration. Travel and licensure reimbursements are available as part of benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of OT experience
• LTC or SNF setting experience required
• New grads considered if they completed Level II fieldwork experience (Level I observation alone not accepted)
• Resume required for consideration
• Skills checklist within 1 year required
• 1 reference required at time of submission

Responsibilities

• Work in a Long Term Care facility setting.
• OT unit responsibilities.
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts.
• No weekend requirements.
• No on-call requirements.
• 13-week assignment.
• Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop appropriate plans of care.
• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, and modalities.
• Use standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions.
• Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and evaluate treatment outcomes.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other providers.
• Communicate with supervisors and healthcare team regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
• Provide comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic system.
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings.
• Participate in facility and company required trainings and in-services.
• Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students.
• Adhere to NBCOT and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics standards.
• No more than 7 days of RTO may be requested
