Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Marion, Illinois. This 13-week, 48 hours per week, 12-hour night shift position is on Neuro/Tele unit with mandated neuro expertise and Epic charting.

Requirements include a current IL RN license (or active temporary IL license), BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and two years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience including travel; float and weekend rotation apply. Benefits include weekly pay and comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications

• Must have current active IL RN license (will accept an active temp IL License).
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS are required.
• Minimum two years of med-surg/telemetry experience; one travel assignment preferred.
• Neuro experience is required for this neuro unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a Neuro unit with telemetry for neuro and neuro-surgical patients.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including heparin drips and blood products.
• Perform neuro assessments, NIHSS screening, and strict I&O with accurate documentation.
• Adhere to EPIC documentation, float as needed and maintain patient safety.

General medicalSkillset: Will also need to be comfortable taking medical overflow patients.NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I’s & O’s/straight cath/Foleys, intitate/titrate heparin gtts., blood/blood product administration/venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.).
