TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Marion, Illinois. This 13-week assignment requires Neuro Telemetry on a 22-bed unit with 1:4 to 1:5 ratios and will include float to medical units as needed.

Shifts are 12 hours days, with every other weekend and holiday. Must have active IL RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and EPIC charting experience. No local candidates within 40 miles.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license (or active IL temp license) required.
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS required.
• Two years Med Surg/Tele experience plus one travel assignment preferred.
• Neuro experience required; ability to handle neuro assessments and dysphagia screening.

Job Description & Requirements

• UNIT: Neuro MS/TELE RN
• Required Certs: Must have current active IL RN license (will accept an active temp IL License). AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.
• Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med Surg/TELE, 1 travel assignment.
• Neuro experience required
• Float Requirement: Could float to the medical unit
• On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend. Every other holiday.
• Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required
• Patient Population: Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients – CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, cerebral angiogram.
• General medical Skillset: Will also need to be comfortable taking medical overflow patients.
• NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I’s & O’s/straight cath/Foleys, intitate/titrate heparin gtts., blood/blood product administration/venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!
• Unit Information: 22 bed Neuro unit - ratios are 1:4 unless they have a high medical patient census they will put two nurse in a 1:5 ratio.
• Note on unit procedures: this unit sees a lot of spine/back surgeries and strokes. they only take non titratable drips NO Amio or CardizemHard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates
