Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Marion, Illinois. The Neuro MS/TELE RN unit has 22 beds with a 1:4 ratio and requires a strong telemetry nurse for a 13-week assignment starting 10/25/2026, with 36 hours per week and 12-hour day shifts.

The role emphasizes Neuro care, EPIC charting, and potential float to other medical units. Must have IL RN license (temp accepted), BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and prior Med/Surg/TELE travel experience.

Qualifications

• Must have current active IL RN license (will accept an active temp IL License).
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.
• Two years of strong Med Surg/TELE, 1 travel assignment.
• Neuro experience required

Responsibilities

• Float to the medical unit as needed while maintaining patient safety and care quality.
• Provide Med/Surg/Telemetry care for Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients.
• Perform NIHSS, dysphagia screen and neuro assessments with strong critical thinking.
• Maintain strict I’s & O’s, IVs, catheters, drains and manage blood products.

UNIT: Neuro MS/TELE RN

Required Certs: Must have current active IL RN license (will accept an active temp IL License). AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.
Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med Surg/TELE, 1 travel assignment. Neuro experience required

Float Requirement: Could float to the medical unit

Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend. Every other holiday.

Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required
Patient Population: Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients – CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, cerebral angiogram. General medical

Skillset: Will also need to be comfortable taking medical overflow patients.
NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I’s & O’s/straight cath/Foleys, intitate/titrate heparin gtts., blood/blood product administration/venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!

Unit Information: 22 bed Neuro unit - Ratio: 1:4 | Charge nurse will have patient assignment
