Qualifications

• Active Illinois nursing license or initiation of license process.
• Current BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, and TNCC certifications.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• SANE RN experience preferred and teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Must comply with drug-free policy and be prepared to pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical nursing care in ER for a diverse patient population.
• Manage patients with trauma, strokes and cardiac emergencies.
• Work 12-hour night shifts; ensure safety, documentation and patient advocacy.

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Specialty position located in a Level 1 trauma department. This role involves providing critical nursing care to a diverse patient population ranging from newborns to elderly individuals. The position requires proficiency in managing a wide spectrum of patient conditions, including critically ill patients, trauma cases, strokes, and cardiac emergencies.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 48 hours
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the license application process has been initiated; current BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC certifications; at least 2 years of nursing experience; prior travel nursing experience preferred; SANE RN experience preferred; experience working in a teaching hospital environment preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with a variety of drips including vasopressor and cardiac medications; proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and operating Phillips monitors.
• Additional Information: Candidates must adhere to the organization's drug-free policy and be prepared to produce a negative drug screen. Orientation hours are 12 hours with guaranteed hours not applying during orientation. Fluency in trouble-shooting respiratory equipment such as vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices is expected. The role involves floating to assist other units as needed, though this is rare.
