Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Oak Lawn, Illinois. The candidate must scrub and circulate in CVOR, have acute care and level I trauma experience, and be proficient with EPIC EMR. This is a 40-hour week with 10-hour day shifts.

Shifts options include 6:45 AM–3:15 PM, 2:45 PM–7:15 PM, and 10:45 PM–7:15 AM, with 3x12s, 2x8s/12s, or 5x8s. A $500 contract completion bonus applies and travel pay packages include lodging, meals, and stipends.

Qualifications

• CVOR RN with acute care experience and level I trauma exposure.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• BLS certification required; CST/BLS or related certifications may be required per role.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate in CVOR for both adult and pediatric cases including open-heart.
• Operate in a high-volume OR with trauma and complex cases.
• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia and perioperative teams; ensure patient safety.

Job Details

• Multiple shift time options available: 6:45 AM–3:15 PM, 2:45 PM–7:15 PM, and 10:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Schedule options include 3x12-hour shifts, 2x8-hour and 2x12-hour shifts, or 5x8-hour shifts
• Radiology/Hybrid Tech shifts run Monday through Thursday in 8 or 10-hour shifts
• Weekend rotation required every 4th weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday coverage required
• On-call responsibilities dependent on shift and service line with a 30-minute response time required; sleeping room available for on-call team members
• 6-week rotation-based schedule provided 2–4 weeks in advance; no self-scheduling
• Operating room open 24/7, 365 days a year; Monday through Friday 7:30 AM–11:00 PM with skeleton crew after 11:00 PM for trauma and urgent cases; Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM with skeleton crew after 5:00 PM
• Handles approximately 60–75 cases per day including outpatient, inpatient, and trauma patients
• Case types include GSW, stabbings, transplant (kidney, heart), donor cases, general, GYN, urology, robotics, vascular, ortho, neuro, and open hearts/CABGs
• Hybrid room sees 5–10 cases per day including TAVR, AAA, endarterectomies, angiograms, and fistula revisions (adults only)
• 20% pediatric cases including open hearts, appendectomies, and cholecystectomies
• Participates in Gifts of Hope cases
• OR RN must have experience with above case types, ability to scrub and circulate, trauma experience at a Level 1 or 2 facility, and EPIC experience required; critical care experience preferred
• CVOR RN must be able to scrub and circulate adult or pediatric open-heart cases, have critical care experience, Level 1 trauma experience, and EPIC experience required
• Minimum 2–3 years of acute care experience required
• Required certifications for OR/CVOR RN: BLS; Surg Tech/CVOR Surg Tech: BLS and CST; Hybrid IR Tech: BLS and ARRT; Surgical Assist: BLS and CSA
• EMR: EPIC; IV Pump: Alaris; Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
• Siemens equipment experience required for Hybrid IR Tech
• Scrubs provided; free parking available
• No floating to other units
• First-time travelers accepted

This facility is a large 794-bed acute care hospital operating as a Level I Trauma Center with Magnet designation and Comprehensive Stroke Center status. The surgical department operates around the clock and features 28 beds including two hybrid rooms for cardiovascular and vascular procedures. The department is supported by charge nurses, anesthesiologists, resource nurses, educators, service line representatives, and EPIC super-users, providing a well-rounded and collaborative environment for clinical professionals.
