Job summary

Ambe Healthcare Staffing seeks an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a travel/contract assignment in California. The NMT will perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment, and ensure high-quality images with radiation safety.

The role supports patient care across hospital settings, with opportunities for extended work and travel throughout the state. Start ASAP with dedicated recruiter support during onboarding.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Recent Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience in a hospital or imaging setting.
  • California Nuclear Medicine Technologist authorization/certificate through CDPH Radiologic Health Branch.
  • ARRT(N) or NMTCB/CNMT certification as applicable to California requirements.
  • BLS certification preferred/required based on facility requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, radiopharmaceuticals, radiation safety, and imaging equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong communication and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, and administer radiopharmaceuticals per orders and facility protocols.
  • Perform nuclear medicine diagnostic imaging and related procedures.
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine cameras, scanners, and related equipment.
  • Position and prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures clearly.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond to patient needs.
  • Review images for technical quality and ensure required views have been obtained.
  • Maintain accurate patient, procedure, and radiopharmaceutical documentation.
  • Follow radiation safety, infection control, and departmental protocols.
  • Perform venipuncture and IV-related duties when required and within scope.
  • Work with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with equipment quality control and maintain a safe imaging environment.
  • Follow all applicable state and federal regulations regarding radioactive materials.
