Job summary

Flagstar Nursing in Bloomington, IN is seeking a travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week assignment. Expect 40 hours per week, day shifts, and a fast-paced environment focused on high-quality imaging and patient safety.

The role requires radiopharmaceutical handling, operation of gamma cameras and PET/CT equipment, and strict adherence to NRC/state regulations. You will work with a multidisciplinary team and receive weekly pay with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of nuclear medicine imaging experience in hospital or outpatient settings.
• Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT (N) or CNMT) required.
• BLS certification.
• State licensure as mandated by local regulations.
• PET certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of radiopharmaceutical handling, imaging procedures, and radiation safety measures.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals per prescribed dosages, safety protocols, and regulatory standards (NRC/state).
• Perform nuclear medicine imaging studies (planar, SPECT, PET/CT) including cardiac stress tests, bone scans, thyroid evaluations, oncologic assessments.
• Operate gamma cameras, PET/CT scanners, dose calibrators; document quality control procedures.
• Monitor patients during/after procedures; manage adverse reactions and radiation safety.
• Coordinate image acquisition timing with referring clinicians to aid accurate diagnoses.
