Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide critical care respiratory therapy, with an emphasis on NICU and pediatric patients. A strong competency in caring for adult patients is required due to the potential for assignments in various settings, including the emergency room and medical-surgical units. The facility serves a daily average of 6-7 ventilated patients with a mixed age population ranging from neonates to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy for patients across various care settings, including NICU, PICU, and adult care areas.
• Utilize specialized equipment, including Maquet Servo i, Draeger V500, jet ventilation, and oscillation therapy.
• Manage patients requiring high-frequency jet ventilation and nitric oxide therapy.
• Perform procedures such as intubation, extubation, and transport of critical care patients.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care respiratory therapy; candidates with 1 year of strong pediatric and adult experience may be considered.
• Experience working in Level 3 or 4 NICU settings.
• Competency in caring for all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RRT license in the state of Maryland.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS.
