Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide critical respiratory care in a high-acuity environment. This role focuses primarily on neonatal and pediatric patients within a Level 3/4 NICU and includes adult care responsibilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
• Manage ventilated patients, including using jet high-frequency ventilation commonly utilized in the NICU.
• Perform necessary procedures including intubation, extubation, and the management of tracheostomy patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Monitor and assess patient responses to respiratory care interventions.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, with a strong background in PICU/NICU.
• Experience in managing a variety of patient age groups, including neonates, infants, and adults.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current RRT license for the state of Maryland.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certification are required.
