Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN with a CA license, recent NICU experience, and required certifications for a night shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of an acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week from 18:00 to 06:30
• Every other weekend work is required, with potential to exceed based on unit needs
• No floating between like units is required for this position
• No on‑call responsibilities are associated with this role
• Uses Epic EMR and experience with Epic is required
• Navy blue scrubs are required for RNs
• Free parking is available on site
• All requested time off (RTO) must be requested up front and is subject to facility approval based on needs
• Travelers may be required to float between all facilities within the state if needed
• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
• Returning employees and travelers are subject to specific return and radius rules

Requirements

• Current CA RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent NICU experience required
• Certifications required: BCLS, NRP, and PALS
• Epic charting experience required
• No first‑time travelers will be considered
• Former permanent staff must have a 3‑month break before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Two supervisory references covering one year of employment within the last three years in a comparable specialty are required
