Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Night Shift MRI Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification for an adult acute care and trauma setting. The role requires MI license, BLS, and travel readiness.

Evening to night hours, 1:2 patient ratio, and a mix of ICU/ER environments are expected. Travel-friendly position with comprehensive benefits, housing allowance, and licensure support.

Qualifications

  • ARMRIT or ARRT MR certification required, BLS required
  • Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, contrast media preparation/administration, and starting peripheral IVs
  • Active Michigan license required if applicable; compact licenses not accepted
  • Previous travel experience required
  • Two professional references from a manager or supervisor required; charge nurse references not accepted
  • Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained

Responsibilities

  • Adult Acute Care, Adult ICU, Adult Outpatient, and ER/Trauma work settings
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Night shift schedule of 1 12-hour shift and 3 8-hour shifts per week (4 days, 36 hours)
  • Flex scheduling with monthly schedule updates and advance notice of changes
  • Night shift hours from 19:00 to 7:00
  • Weekend rotation every other week
  • No call or float requirements
  • Imaging includes abdomen/pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, and special imaging procedures such as MRCP, MRA, MRV, and perfusion studies
  • Uses Philips and Siemens MRI equipment and PACS system
  • Perform MRI procedures across abdomen/pelvis, head/neck, spine, and musculoskeletal systems using advanced imaging techniques
  • Flu shot required with no exemptions allowed
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
  • Former permanent employees may return as travelers after one year, provided they left in good standing
  • Candidates employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
  • Traveler pairs are not accepted
  • All requested time off must be submitted upfront with the initial application, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • All required certifications must be obtained prior to the start date
  • Pre-hire modules are completed onsite during orientation
