Focus Staff is seeking a travel MRI Technologist for a travel job in Portland, Oregon.

Contract Assignment

13 Weeks (Temporary); Shift: 3x12 rotating.

Requirements

• Have two (2) years of regular (20+ hours per week) continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist and be fully proficient in all duties of an MRI Technologist II.
• License in required state.
• BLS.
• Must be fully proficient in MRI and knowledgeable of required protocols for complex procedures.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings to customers, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to learn relevant applications; 2 years of hospital experience in clinical area; EP preferred.

Work Experience

At least 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional diagnostic images.
• Perform tasks under direction of Chief of Radiology and Imaging Services Director, exercising independent judgment and initiative to ensure diagnostic quality and patient safety.
• Carry out patient studies per protocol, including coil placement.
• Operate imaging equipment, input scan sequences into computer, adjust transmitters/receivers, and enter data on camera keyboard.
• Interview patients to explain procedures, addressing concerns with tact, courtesy, and poise.
• Ensure safety of patients and staff, explaining protocols, removing hazardous metal, monitoring patients via closed‑circuit TV.
• Orient and train new hires, students, and trainees.
