Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking an RN specialized in ICU to join an on-site team in Las Vegas, NV for a 13-week contract. Day shift consists of 12-hour days, three days per week, with 2:1 patient ratios and a focus on MICU/CVU care.

Requirements include active NV RN license, BLS, ACLS, and critical care experience; NIH certification is preferred. The unit handles a mix of MICU, CVT, and Neuroscience patients, uses Meditech EMR, and emphasizes responsiveness under stress.

Qualifications

• Current NV license, BLS, ACLS, and NIH Certification are required.
• Successful completion of critical care course is preferred.
• Two years of ICU experience is highly desirable.
• Familiar with ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide ICU bedside nursing care in MICU/ICU settings.
• Monitor ventilated patients and manage alarm systems.
• Administer and titrate vasopressors per protocol.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

General Information

Tell us about the unit(s):

Number of Beds – total of 47 ICU beds which includes 23 MICU beds, 12 CVT beds, and 12 Neuroscience beds

Number of Staff – Staffing ratio usually 2:1

Type of staff: All RN staff

o Day Shift – (example 1 charge, 3 RN, 2 CNA, and 1-3 sitters)

o Night Shift – All RN staff

Patient Ratios – 2:1

Type of equipment – Sports beds, Client monitors, CRRT, ventilators, Alaris pumps,

EMR –Meditech

Typical hiring profile

• Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
• Successful completion of critical care course
• Must be familiar with vents, proficient in EKG s, familiar with vasopressor and titration
• Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
• 2 years of previous ICU experience
• Flexible, able to work under stress

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):

• Intubations
• Line placements
• Titration of vasoactive drips
• Thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy

• IMC, to ED to care for IMC and ICU holds

Dress Code:

• Scrub Color/Attire - Royal blue, no hoodies

Weekends and On call(if any)

Every other w/e, seldom asked to take call.
