Job summary

Dermatology Partners is seeking a Traveling Medical Assistant to support clinics across the region. The role covers call-outs and vacations, with patient intake, exam documentation, and assistance with procedures. Travel to multiple locations is required.

The ideal candidate has CMA experience or formal training, strong communication, and a professional demeanor, with dedication to patient care and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• EMR experience and fluent in a variety of software packages.
• Graduate of an approved school or at least 1 year of CMA experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Organization, punctuality, professionalism and a presentable, polished appearance.
• Willingness to travel to clinics within the region for coverage.

Responsibilities

• Take proper intake of patients (history and chief complaint).
• Document exams in the EMR system during procedures.
• Assist with medical procedures (suturing, local anesthesia, patches).
• Deliver patient education and document disease, care, meds, and pathology.
• Process prior authorizations and relay meds to pharmacy as prescribed.
• Schedule follow-up appointments after each exam.
• Respond to patient messages within 24 hours.
• Complete start-of-day and end-of-day tasks and ensure HIPAA compliance.
