Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a 13-week travel assignment in Waterloo, Iowa. The nurse will work 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts and provide bedside nursing care in Med Surg/Telemetry, including assessments, treatments, and patient education.

Requirements include BLS and NIH, with 1 year of acute care experience preferred. The role offers a tax-free stipend and benefits through TotalMed RN, a leading travel nursing agency.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; NIH may be required before start.
• 1 year of recent acute care experience preferred in Med Surg/Telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Administer and document prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care plans.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan.
