Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in West Burlington, IA. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience and must be able to work 12-hour nights on a 36-hour week with a 13-week duration.

Responsibilities include bedside care, medication administration, wound care, and patient education. This travel role requires BLS, CPI and may require additional certifications.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years acute care experience required.
• BLS certification required; CPI often required prior to assignment.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for MedSurg patients and perform ongoing assessments.
• Administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Assist during examinations and procedures; prep equipment for physicians.
• Educate patients and families; participate in discharge planning.
