American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN Med/Surg Tele for a 13-week assignment in Tappahannock, Virginia. The role requires at least 12 months of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience and an active VA or compact RN license.

Night shifts are 12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with 36 hours per week. Starting 01/05/2026, you will work on a hospital floor, with travel pay of about $2,092 per week and a benefits package including insurance from day one, 401(k), licensure and travel reimbursements, and

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least one year of recent experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work on a medical-surgical/telemetry floor in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Care for adult patients requiring med/surg and telemetry monitoring
• First-time travelers are accepted
• No more than four days of requested time off allowed per six weeks
• Any time off must be made up at the end of the contract
• Travelers are required to comply with a natural nail policy
• This is a drug and tobacco free workplace
• Holiday coverage is not guaranteed
• Fingerprinting and background check are required before starting
• Do not work over 40 hours per week unless approved by the unit manager

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license
• Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Telemetry experience required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program (diploma, Associates, or BSN accepted)
• Cannot have been employed by the specified health system within the past 12 months
