Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.
• Assist physician in examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
• Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
• Administer medication as prescribed, initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver patient care competently.
• Interact with family and patient to share care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
• Inform patient and family of hospital procedures.
• Make referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
