Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel Med/Surg RN with telemetry specialization for a 13-week assignment in Cedar Rapids, IA. The position requires 1–2 years of acute care experience, ACLS/BLS, and availability for 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Long shifts with 36 hours per week and night rotation are included.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients including pre- and post-op.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Assist physician during examinations and treatments as needed.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care plans.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education as prescribed.
