Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Appleton, WI. The role requires one year of Med Surg experience, an active RN license, and BLS certification.

You will work 12-hour nights across a 36-hour weekly schedule, with travel benefits and a supportive clinical team. The ideal candidate will possess strong med-surg and telemetry skills, critical thinking, excellent communication, and a commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns to the care team.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist during treatments.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients post-procedure.
• Document patient information, including vital signs and treatments, in the medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement care plans.
• Prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Ensure infection control practices are followed, including PPE use.
• Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with external resources.
