Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Med Surg RN for a travel assignment in Evansville, Indiana. This 13-week contract requires a 48-hour work week with 12-hour night shifts, offering exposure to a fast-paced acute care environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of recent acute care experience and holds BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications. Travel nurses receive a tax-free stipend and comprehensive benefits through TotalMed RN.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications required; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-operative care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care plans.
• Support discharge planning and initiate patient education as prescribed by physician.
