Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Evansville, Indiana. This 13-week assignment requires 36 hours per week, with 12-hour night shifts. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience and a valid BLS certification.

Duties include bedside care, meds, dressings, IVs, patient education, and discharge planning. As a MedSurg RN, you will assess patients, document findings, and support families, while adapting to a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification; 3 years of acute care experience; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op cases.
• Administer prescribed medications and record administration; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and initiate IVs as needed.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, care plans, and post-discharge needs.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education as prescribed by physician.
