Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position in Texas, requiring 2+ years of travel nursing experience and TX or compact RN licensure. Onsite, night shifts are 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00) with a 36/48 hour rotation.

Requirements include active TX or compact RN license, BLS certification, and 1 year RN experience with 2 years travel nursing. PPE knowledge, lab completion plan within 72 hours, and onsite drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license in-hand.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience.
• Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge.
• Must be available to complete required labs within 72 hours of accepting offer or have a plan in place.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical unit setting.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:00) on an alternating 36/48 hour schedule.
• Patient population requiring IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, and blood product administration.
• Cardiac and telemetry monitoring with rapid response/code team involvement.
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration.
• Medication management including Heparin, insulin, non-titrated cardiac/vasoactive drips, and PCA.
• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg and MS/Tele unit, including IV therapy and cardiac monitoring.
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with a positive result resulting in automatic cancellation.
• Candidates should avoid any substances, including CBD products, that could result in a positive drug screen.
• Must reside outside a 110-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted.
• RTO must be submitted with candidate profile.
