Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Fargo, North Dakota. The right RN should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and BLS certification.

Read below for more requirements and responsibilities. As a MedSurg RN you will perform bedside assessments, administer medications, manage dressings and IVs, educate patients and families, and participate in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
