Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a Medical/Surgical Travel RN for a 13-week assignment in Fargo, North Dakota. This Float Med Surg RN role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience, 12-hour rotating shifts, and a 36-hour workweek on travel basis.

You will perform bedside assessments, administer medications, assist during examinations, participate in discharge planning, and educate patients and families. BLS is required; additional certifications may be needed before starting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience
• BLS certification required
• 12-hour rotating shifts on a 36-hour workweek (travel)

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
