Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Augusta, Georgia. The position offers a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week and 12-hour night shifts.

The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of recent acute care experience, current BLS, and any required certifications. Responsibilities include bedside assessment, medication administration, dressing changes, and patient education for families.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-operative cases.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Assist during examinations and procedures, preparing equipment as needed.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and postoperative care.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate education plans as prescribed by the physician.
