Job summary

General Healthcare Resources, Inc. seeks a Travel Med/Surg RN for a 13-week contract in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role features three 12-hour night shifts weekly (36 hours) with a weekend requirement, and patient ratios around 1:5–6.

Epic EMR is used for documentation, with orientation provided. Active Indiana RN or compact license and BLS are required, along with 1.5+ years in a Level I/II or tertiary hospital and 1+ year Med/Surg in large hospitals.

Qualifications

• Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• At least 1.5 years of experience in a Level I/II or tertiary hospital.
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience in a large hospital (≈450 beds).
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend requirements.
• Strong assessment, prioritization and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients.
• Care for patients with COPD, diabetes, CHF and other conditions.
• Complete assessments, develop care plans, administer meds, evaluate responses.
• Manage IV therapy, infusions, feeding pumps, drains and telemetry.
• Document in Epic and communicate with providers and families.
• Float to other units as needed while maintaining safety and quality.
