Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing seeks a Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Fort Wayne, IN. You will provide comprehensive med-surg care in a busy unit, with a focus on telemetry and patient safety.

The role requires one year of Med Surg RN experience, an active RN license in Indiana, and BLS certification. Travel assignments include benefits and a dedicated support team for travelers.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Current RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns to the care team
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures
• Document comprehensive patient information in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
• Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs
• Ensure infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use
• Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences in the care plan
• Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with external resources for smooth transition
