Job summary

GHR Healthcare is seeking a Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract in Fort Wayne, IN. The role covers 12-hour night shifts (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) with a 36-hour work week, rotating to multiple medical-surgical units as needed.

You will join a collaborative acute-care team caring for a diverse patient population under Epic charting and hospital orientation. Requirements include an Indiana RN license or compact license, BLS, and 1.5+ years of Level I/II or tertiary-care

Qualifications

• Indiana RN license or compact RN license is required.
• BLS through American Heart Association required.
• At least 1.5 years of Level I, II, or tertiary-care nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of medical-surgical nursing in a large hospital (450+ beds preferred).
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to float to other medical units as needed.
• Epic charting experience or training is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Med/Surg nursing care for diverse medical conditions.
• Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies and drips as ordered.
• Care for wound vacs, chest tubes, telemetry, SCDs, and other acute-care equipment.
• Prepare patients for post-procedure care and perform recovery support.
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate during handoffs and care transitions.
• Float to other medical units while maintaining safe, evidence-based care.
