Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wilmington, North Carolina. The right RN should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and be eligible for BLS/ACLS certifications. This travel assignment runs 13 weeks with 48 hours per week, typically nights.

Duties include bedside care, medication administration, and discharge planning in a fast-paced Med/Surg unit. Qualifications include BLS, ACLS, and 2 years of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Perform ongoing assessments and document findings; prioritize data based on patient condition.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Assist in dressing changes, catheter insertions, IV starts, and procedures.
• Support discharge planning and patient/family education during care.
