Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Med/Surg travel nurse for a Wilmington, NC assignment. This RN will provide bedside care on a 13-week travel contract, working 48 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts and related duties in a fast-paced Med/Surg setting.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience and hold BLS and ACLS certifications. Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, and discharge education as directed by physicians.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Prior Med-Surg RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients including pre- and post-op.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examination and treatment.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and post-op care.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education.
