Job summary

TotalMed RN in Calais, ME is seeking a Med Surg Travel RN for a 13-week assignment. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience, BLS and ACLS, and is available for 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

As a MedSurg Travel Nurse, you will perform bedside assessments, administer meds, assist with perioperative care, educate patients and families, and participate in discharge planning. The role offers weekly pay, guaranteed hours, and a tax-free stipend where applicable.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Travel nurse; 13-week assignment; 36 hours per week; 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
