TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Midland, Michigan. This 13-week travel assignment requires a Med Surg RN with 1-2 years of acute care experience, working 36 hours per week on a 12-hour night shift. Travel employment.

The role involves patient assessments, ongoing assessments with physician-ordered treatments, and educating families, with a fast-paced environment and potential lifting requirements.

Qualifications

• RN with 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Performs bedside care and medical record documentation.
• Flexibility for travel assignments and 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
