Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Great Bend, Kansas. The assignment is a 13‑week travel position, covering 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts. The RN should have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment. As a MedSurg RN, you will assess patients, document findings, and educate families, while providing bedside care, medication

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS required.
• 1 year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
